Testimonials
The Tuktuk Pilates class has been a physical and mindful wonder. Lucy is gentle, caring and very encouraging to all abilities. Her exercises may seem gentle, but are very well focused to challenge you to the the level you are most comfortable at. It has been lovely to feel that I am having some me time whilst engaging with my body in a comfortable and relaxed environment. I would definitely recommend the class and coach Lucy. The herbal tea after the relaxation section at the end is the perfect finish.
Linzi - Gentle Pilates
Lucy is a dedicated and knowledgeable teacher who knows exactly how far to take us. I have definitely seen the benefits already, plus we even have fun in class!
Sarah - Pilates (started classes in October 2021)
Lucy creates a happy and positive atmosphere to put everyone at their ease and therefore make the most of the class. Her instruction is clear and calm, and her acute attention to detail with individual class member's needs is vital and reassuring. I feel I have had an enjoyable physiotherapy session after each class, Pilates or Yoga and am realigned for the day.
J McSwiney - Pilates and Yoga
I can't recommend Lucy's classes highly enough. She is so knowledgeable and I feel in such safe hands doing Pilates with her. She is really careful to ensure the exercises are suitable for us all and makes changes each week to keep the classes interesting, using bands and balls too to add depth to the exercises. The tea afterwards is lovely too.

ABOUT
Lucy Raj
Founder and Lead Teacher
I have been teaching Pilates for over 10 years and Yoga since 2018. I really enjoy helping people to feel stronger and better in themselves, both physically and mentally.
I am married with 3 children (we also have two cats and a tortoise), and have lived in Tunbridge Wells since 2002. When our youngest was born in 2003 I gave up my office job and commuting to London. Since then I feel very lucky to have been able to develop my own practise of Pilates and Yogaand to share that knowledge with others through my classes.
I was first introduced to YOGA when I was at primary school in Belgium. I immediately loved it as it seemed to blend elements of both ballet and gymnastics -at the time my favourite pastimes. I have continued to practise different styles from Ashtanga to Iyengar to Yin Yogaover the years since. I found ANTENATAL YOGA and focusing on breathing invaluable when pregnant and giving birth. I finally took the plunge to train as a teacher myself in 2018 with Nicholas Barratt, at Yoga Tree of Life, going on to teach there as anoccasional stand-in and also at Boundes Studio in Bidborough before now starting to offer my own classes at the Toc H Community Hall, Little Mount Sion, Tunbridge Well TN1 1YS.
In 2005 my husband was advised to take up PILATES to help with a hip injury. Having quickly seen the benefits, he suggested I give it a try as he alsoknew it would be very much 'up my street'. I attended classes at Sandrine's Pilates and went on to qualify as a Mat and Standing Pilates teacher with The PhysicalMind Institute. Subsequently I have continued to enhance my knowledge, taking specialist courses relating to pregnancy and Pilates, hips and shoulder joints. Having had a break from teaching for a few years recently, I refreshed my knowledge by qualifying as a Level 3 YMCA Pilates teacher in 2021 through Pilates Training Solutions in Farnham, Surrey.
